Chavón: Admissions Campaign
Art Direction / Advertising Campaign
I was asked to design a campaign to advertise Chavón’s college level programs across various platforms. Since it is the only school completely specialized in Design in the Dominican Republic, it was a requirement to look different from the rest of the ads placed by other local superior education institutions. Another communication goal was to transmit the teaching methodology of the school, since it offers a technical learning approach that relies heavily on hands-on practice.
My approach was an asymmetrical geometric system were I chose to highlight the visibility of the grid to transmit guidance and structure. Some squares contained charcoal and oil pastel textures since they’re drawing materials we all experienced at our foundation year regardless of the degree we chose to specialize in. Other squares contain details of figure and landscape drawing exercises made by Chavón alumni from different generations during their first year. I also included screen noise textures to highlight the addition of the school’s new Film program.
