Baublelove Jewelry:
Embracing Ancient Indian Design in Packaging

Art Direction / Packaging Design
ABOUT THE PROJECT:Baublelove, a jewelry brand specializing in handcrafted pieces, sought to revamp their e-commerce packaging to reflect the ancient Indian traditions that inspire its jewelry. The client requested the inclusion of vintage botanical motifs to create a rich and elegant look and feel.
RESEARCH AND PROCESS:I aimed to focus on botanical elements that stayed true to the essence of ancient Indian design, avoiding generic and overused vintage imagery.

While exploring The Met's wonderful Open Access Collection, I discovered a perfect image of an 18th-century Indian textile. I extracted and edited vintage botanical motifs from the textile; which I then rearranged to create unique, authentic patterns that aligned with the brand’s heritage.

OUTCOME
The floral motifs were combined with graphic elements from other original ancient Indian textiles, such as illustrated borders, to enrich the design of the box.

The new, detailed packaging exceeded the client’s expectations, meeting their e-commerce needs while authentically reflecting the brand’s cultural heritage.

Special thanks to The Met for its Open Access Initiative.
